At KUMI we believe good food and drinks can go hand in hand with care for the environment, animal welfare and ourselves. We create honest food based on high quality ingredients without any animals on the menu. The result is tasty and colourful, vegetarian and vegan comfort food.
We create events in our amazing locations in Oslobukta or Gamlebyen or take our food and drinks to you. Our events range from birthday parties to product launches, and weddings to corporate dinners.

Events at our two locations in Oslobukta and Gamlebyen:
KUMI Oslobukta is located on the waterfront in brand new area in Bispevika. Having rapidly transformed from an old dock to a modern area full of shops, restaurants and cultural arenas, Oslobukta has become a very popular destination for locals and visitors in Oslo. Both of our restaurants are designed by our architect owner, and fuse inspiration from modern Nordic and Japanese architecture and design. At KUMI Oslobukta we wanted to create a light and peaceful space, allowing for the amazingly changing light on the waterfront to be the centre of attention. We have used hand-made Danish bricks on the floor and on the bar, amazing Bocci 57 in the ceiling and local birch to design our furniture. Our tableware was designed by Ulla Procopé in the 60s and is no longer in production. The use of vintage Arabia Ruska tableware is another conscious decision to reduce our carbon footprint.
This location is suitable for up to 36 seated indoors / 50 outdoors and up to 80 standing indoors / 80 outdoors. KUMI Oslobukta is perfect for events & meetings for breakfast, lunch / brunch, dinner, and cocktail receptions.
KUMI Gamlebyen is located in the midst of the 1890s residential buildings in Gamlebyen, just a stone’s throw from Bjørvika. The restaurant is located in the premises of a legendary old black metal record shop, now situated next door, but now stand in contrast to the former resident. Our location in Gamlebyen is light, small and cozy and blends beech wood with the unique chairs from Japanese Maruni. In Gamlebyen we have also opted for Bocci 57 to illuminate the restaurant, whilst our tableware is hand-made in southern Japan.
This located is suitable for up to 20 seated indoors and up to 40 standing indoors. We have room for 10 seated outdoors, which is also an area included for use when you book the whole location. KUMI Gamlebyen is perfect for smaller private and corporate events for breakfast, lunch / brunch and evenings.
